CHRISTLIKE 1-7-18
I. THE GOAL----“CHRISTLIKEâ€
Philippians 3:14 (NKJV) “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.â€
A. True Discipleship
Philippians 2:9-11 (NKJV) 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
1. We will be with Jesus
2. We will be like Jesus
1 John 3:2 (NKJV) 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
II. ACTION PLAN---“HOW?â€
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) 12 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
A. Set Priorities---“Throw off what hinders usâ€
1. Seek (Aim at and strive for)
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV) 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
B. Purity---“The sin which so easily ensnares usâ€
C. Surrender---“Run with endurance the race that is set before usâ€

ACTION PLAN TO BE CHRISTLIKE 1-14-18
I. HUMILITY
A. Jesus was
Philippians 2:5-8 (NKJV) 5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
John 13:12-17 (NKJV) 12 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. 14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. 16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
B. We humble to God
Romans 6:13 (NKJV) And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
II. ONENESS WITH GOD THROUGH JESUS John 17
A. Jesus prayer to the Father
B. They all may be one John 17:20-24

STILL BETTER THAN. . . 1-28-18
JESUS SUPERIOR TO:
Father's and Prophets
Hebrews 1:1-2 (NKJV) 1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
Angels
Hebrews 1:4 (NKJV) 4 having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Moses
Hebrews 3:3 (NKJV) 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house.
Better Than Rest
Hebrews 4:1 (NKJV) Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.
Who better to understand us than any earthly priest?
Hebrews 4:15-16 (NKJV) 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
I. Jesus is superior to the Priesthood of Aaron. Hebrews 7:1-3, 23 - 28
II. Jesus is superior to the tabernacle. Hebrews 8:1-6

WORSHIP 2-18-18
I. WHAT PEOPLE WORSHIP
Romans 1:19-23 (NKJV) “ because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown itto them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.”
II. WHERE PEOPLE WORSHIP
John 4:23-24 (NKJV) “ But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
III. HOW YOU SHOULD WORSHIP PSALM 29:1-11
1. Because he is God, Supremacy over Heavenly beings v. 1,2
2. The Lord’s Supremacy of the forces of nature v. 3-9
3. The Lord’s Supremacy over humanity. v. 10-11
IV. WHY WE SHOULD WORSHIP
John 14:7-11 (NKJV) 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.”
V. WHERE WE SHOULD WORSHIP

Titus 2:11-12 (NKJV) For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,
II. JESUS’ BLOOD IS BETTER Hebrews 9:16-17
A. Last Will and Testament Hebrews 9:16-17
B. A Testator “to arrange disposal” Executor
1. Blood of animals couldn’t take away sin
2. Only Jesus blood did. Hebrews 10:-4,12,14

III. JOINT-HEIRS WITH JESUS Hebrews 10:10,14
John 17:24 (NKJV) 24 “Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
Colossians 3:1 (NKJV) If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Ephesians 3:16-19 (NKJV) 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

The whole earth is full of His glory!” 4 And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. 5 So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips,
And I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; For my eyes have seen the King, The Lord of hosts.” 6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a live coal which he had taken with the tongs from the altar. 7 And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” 8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: “Whom shall I send, And who will go for Us?” Then I said, “Here am I! IS YOUR FAITH GENUINE? 5-6-18
I. ARE YOU SURE YOU HAVE EXERCISED FAITH IN GOD?
A. It is by faith that we are saved. Acts 16.31
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
B. Christ dwells in our hearts by faith
Ephesians 3:17 (NKJV) 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
C. The Life of the believer is a life of faith
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV) 20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
II. WE OVERCOME THE WORLD BY FAITH
1 John 5:4 (NKJV) 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our [a] faith.
A. By faith we stand in the hour of testing II Corinthians 1:24
Romans 11:20 (NKJV) 20 Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.
B. We walk by faith
2 Corinthians 5:7 (NKJV) 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight
C. The Just shall live by taith Hebrews 10:38
Romans 1:17 (NKJV) 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
D. We resist the devil by faith
1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because [a] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
E. By faith we have access to God-yes into the very holiest Hebrews 10:19,20
Ephesians 3:12 (NKJV) 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.
F. By faith we fight the good fight
1 Timothy 6:12 (NKJV) 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
G. By faith we run the race
Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
III. WHATSOEVER IS NOT OF FAITH IS SIN
Romans 14:23 (NKJV) 23 But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

C. 7 Reasons why Christians suffer
1. Because of our stupidity

CENTER ON THE GOOD NEWS 7-8-18
BARNABAS BROUGHT PAUL Philippians 4:1-7
Acts 11:22-26 (NKJV) 22 Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch. 23 When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord. 24 For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. 25 Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
ETERNAL RETRIBUTION
Matthew 3:10-12 (NKJV) 10 And even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree which does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit [a]and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”
YOU CAN KNOW
1 John 5:13 (NKJV) 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, [a]and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
